Green Gates at Flowing Lake

Our History

Green Gates is located on Flowing Lake near the historic town of Snohomish, Washington. Flowing Lake has a rich history going back to the early logging days when logs were floated across the lake to the mill on nearby Panther Lake. In those days, wooden row boats were available for rent at the Wonderland Park Resort for $2.00 per day. Although those days have long since passed, Green Gates is proud to be a part of preserving that rich history. Several of the original Wonderland Park wooden row boats have been salvaged and are now on display at Green Gates.

The property that would eventually become Green Gates at Flowing Lake was once a modest equestrian estate. The original 3-horse barn has been beautifully transformed into the Bridal Cottage, and the former covered riding arena in the large barn is now the ballroom reception area. The wedding lawn has a sweeping view of the sparkling lake, lush greenery, and Cascade mountains.

The owners of Green Gates acquired the property after falling in love with the barns and the lake, with no real aspirations of becoming a wedding venue. When their daughter’s best friend asked them to host her wedding, they gladly agreed. The rest, as they say, is history.
